Auf Tolkiens Spuren
Acht Tage England liegen hinter uns und auf's Neue haben mich Oxfords Schönheit und Londons Weite in ihren Bann gezogen. Ich kann mich einfach nicht satt sehen an diesen geschichtsträchtigen gelben Mauern... seufz... Wie sehr beneide ich doch alle, die das Privileg haben, dort studieren zu können.
Um es mit den Worten meines Reiseführers zu sagen:
"Crammed into a tiny space less than a mile square is on of the greatest collections of buildings to be seen anywhere. Moreover, these buildings have been home to an extraordinary number of statesmen, kings and saints, and over eight centuries Oxford University has educated philosophers, poets and scientists who revolutionised the way we see the world. Da sind zum einen geheimnisvolle Colleges, Bibliotheken und Theatergebäude, die vor uralter Tradition nur so strotzen.

Ganz zu schweigen von den typisch britischen Pubs, sehenswerten Museen, verwinkelten Gässchen und kleinen Card Shops an jeder Ecke. Ihr seht - ich bin verliebt :-)
